help please - tvheadend and evo xfinity

Hi guys. When it comes to TVHE I am a complete newbie so please go easy.

I have read through the forums and its completely blown my mind.
I have just purchased an evo xfinity sat box, with TVheadend/XBMC installed third party. Ive got a direct feed to satellite and was looking to descramble UK channels on 28.2e.

Ive used sat boxes before, and its been basic - enter the N or C line, scan for channels then done! easy!

Now ive tried adding a newcamd line into this box, from LIVE TV Settings, CAS, Service List, Add new service.

As soon as I enter the Nline details, server, port, user pass etc, and press red button to start, it doesn't save and just reverts back to the previous page.

So I decided to do a bit of research, and from the looks of it its not that simple.

Or is it?

Should I just be able to add Newcamd like I do on my other boxes? If so could someone point me to a dummies guide. I see things like OSCAM and CAID and never had to deal with these so I would be really appreciative of someones help if there is something else I need to do first.

Hi Ant,

I have exactly the same problem as you! scoured the net but no joy! Drop me a line if you find a solution mate please, i will do the same if i sort it first. Evo xfiniy seemed great but everything so complicated on it! In cas section on live tv it just does not allow any settings changes iv tried with the emulators too to open bbc biss channels on 27.5w but every time i click enable it just goes back to off again as soon as i exit!

Hi Justin.

i was using the factory firmware.

I got sent the latest custom firmware from my supplier reflashed and this resolved the problem.

Hi thanks for the quick reply, however i have 3rd party firmware from lavatronics dated march 2015, before i flashed that i didn't even get a cas tab in live tv settings, but i have it now with all servers and settings etc but can not edit or add anything. Where did u get your firmware? and is it newer than march?

Any help or link to download firmware greatly appreciated as my head is going bang with it!

Hi, For those that may have had the same problem listed here, i now have it sorted with many thanks to John at lavatronics, i was told to flash factory firmware back onto the evo xfinity then reflash with 3rd party firmware, then if still does not work, keep reflashing with 3rd party firmware. Mine then worked on 3rd attempt. Dont know why this happens but at the end of the day it did work finally!
