Not getting much in the EPG, wrong setup?

Hey guys, me again :p

Still trying to get my XBMC-PVR/TVHeadend completed. I seem to be getting the TV ok but the EPG/Channel Info doesn't seem to show up much...

Also if I update the XML-TV source in the tvheadend gui to the UK Radio Times (or bleb.org for that matter) I get the following :

Does that mean it's failed?

I've already run the configuration on the server with the following options :

tv_grab_uk_rt can use the first part of your postcode in order to determine which regional channels to display during configuration. Republic of Ireland users should enter the pseudo-postcode "EIRE". Entering "none" will disable this feature.

Does that all seem right to you guys? If so, why am I only getting a couple of entried in my timeline on my EPG?

Tvheadend runs the XML grabber under the same user account that is used to run tvheadend. So in most cases that is hts.

So if you configure your grabber, make sure you do that while being loged on as the hts user.

(or copy all the details under .xmltv in your home directory to the .xmltv directory of the hts user (look at the permissions/ownership)

No, you should first login as the hts user and then run the grabber to configure it. Now you have configured it under your own user, but tvheadend is using the hts user.

Hmm, that's gonna be difficult lol, I've got it installed on Ubuntu Server with no monitor, guess I'm gonna have to get vnc installed to let me access the login screen too.

What's the password for the hts user too? is it hts or would I have configured it in setting up tvheadend?

I also tried this in console, which I would've presumed would fix all the permissions, no?

If you have access to the console it is enough. Just use sudo to su into the hts user. Then you are logged on as the hts user and you can configure the grabber. No need for vnc etc. Ssh access to a console is enough.

What's the password for the hts account? I tried "hts" and my own password I would've used but neither let me in, I'm using putty.

K, Just read the download page :

and it states :

If you need to change the username and/or password you can reconfigure the package. From a command line, execute:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure hts-tvheadend

So I'm guessing I should just do that and then login with putty :)

Hmmm....not good...got this when I tried...

/usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure: hts-tvheadend is broken or not fully installed.

OK, Changed it to "tvheadend" instead of "hts-tvheadend", seemed to be ok

Use putty to login as you normally do on that server using your normal username and password. Once there use sudo su - hts to switch to the hts user. You can check if you are really the hts user by typing whoami. That should say hts.

Once there you can configure the grabber just like you did before.

No need to do a dpkg-reconfigure because that only deals with the tvheadend webgui user, not the ubuntu user hts.
