I also have a BER of 0 on my DiBcom 7000 stick - so > 2 million is worth exploring... cables?

Actually, I'm connected to outlet antenna on the wall (the one is use for my TV). If I connect a small antenna (provided by Terratec), I got the same BER but the signal strength is lower :

Nothing else has changed between Win7 and XBMCbuntu? Same computer, same aerial, same USB cables/port, same PCIe slot, same ... everything else?

That error rate (and I'm no expert!) looks like something's badly wrong, and the fact that scan and w_scan don't work as well reinforces that it's a hardware or OS-level issue.

The only other thing that occurs is that I recall issues with signal strength on this chipset unless you turn on the amplifier, so you need to set 'force_lna_activation=1'. On my system it's in /etc/modprobe.d/options-dvb.conf:

$ cat /etc/modprobe.d/options-dvb.conf # Hauppauge Nova-T DVB-T, plus low noise amplifier options dvb_usb_dib0700 adapter_nr=0 force_lna_activation=1

You don't need the adapter_nr parameter if you only have this tuner, as it doesn't matter if they appear as 0 and 1 or 1 and 0 as the two tuners are the same.

Well, in fact I already succeeded to find services with this configuration (same PC, same OS [XBMCbuntu], same adapter, with tvheadend compiled). I mapped these services and they appear on XBMC. But when I tried to watch them, I was stuck on buffering 0%.
I didn't know what changes could explain that it doesn't work anymore...

When I succeeded to find services, Tvheadend automatically added another mux at 4Ghz, like in "this thread" ("Screenshot"

I tried to use another USB port but it makes no difference.
The WIN7 is a VM (VMWare). Actually I make my tests on another PC, but I made tests on a VM XBMCbuntu (same host) and I've had the same problems.

I also made tests on Ubuntu 14.04 (Live USB), and got the same results...

I'll try to make these changes in modprobe. Do I need to reboot ? Because actually I run XBMCbuntu in a live USB. I can make these changes and tests on the VM (on the same host than the WIN7).

It uses "dvb-usb-dib0700-1.20.fw" It's maybe a firmware issue...

I'll receive my Raspberry PI B+ today, so I'll make tests on it over the coming days.

I tried to add this file (cause it didn't exist, is it normal ?) then reboot but it has no effects...
I also created a file named "options".
How can I check if this options is applied ? It seems good :

$ cat /sys/module/dvb_usb_dib0700/parameters/force_lna_activation 1

In addition, I realize that the Bandwidth in "Status" stay at 0kb/s, even during a scan.

OMG, there's something I can't figure out!

If I lightly unplug the antenna, the signal reduces to 30 / 40% and it finds services ! In addition, it automatically adds me the mux at 4GHz :

And if I check on "Status", the BER is at 0 and bandwidth increases!

Sounds like something's bent or damaged in the antenna plug - or a pin is insulated in the wrong place - so pushing it all the way in breaks the connection, but pulling it out a bit makes the circuit. I'm guessing completely, though...

However, you've found your issue, as your config clearly works!

I can only presume that 'signal strength' is reporting a voltage that's higher than it really should be, perhaps because the earth (ground) pin isn't connected so the potential difference is wrong. Still guessing, however...!

Hmm ok, I see...
But it perfectly works in Win7, with the antenna correctly plugged in.

I'll try with one of the provided antenna, without using this adapter :

Same issue with provided antennas, even if I lightly unplug them.
BER is at 2097151 and bandwidth at 0...

It's really strange. How can it perfectly works on Win7 if something's bent or damaged in the antenna plug ?

I'm inclined to agree that it shouldn't make a difference, unless there's something inherent in the driver software that makes Linux more susceptible to noise - or perhaps Windows doesn't have the error checking and so doesn't bail out. It has to be something like that if the hardware is identical, unless it's the USB driver or USB bus driver or similar?
