unable to play Canal Digital HD Channels. XBMC Log included

Hi!
I am not sure wether this is a xbmc or a tvheadend bug so i start by posting it here.

It looks like tvheadend formats the mkv files wrong when dumping HD-Streams.

Problem Description: Watching Canal Digital HD channels is a no go.
Sound stutters and the picture updates once every 5 - 10 seconds.
Playing any SD Channel works just fine and the picture quality is superb.

The stuttering and fps problem is consistent on all HD Channels.

XBMC Hardware: Apple TV 2

Try disabling de-interlacing in XBMC.

Hi, and thank you for your input.
De-Interlacing is allready disabled.
Not even the SD Channels work with de-interlacing enabled.
This is something else. anybody having a clue?

I dont have a Apple TV, so this is only guessing.

Have you read the FAQ on this wiki page http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=XBMC_for_Mac_on_Apple_TV?

It says:
Question: Will the Apple TV playback 1080p videos encoded with the H.264 codec (like Blu-ray rips)?

Answer: Yes, the latest version of XBMC (version 10 'Dharma') allows Apple TV to play HD H.264 encoded videos however the original Apple TV hardware is only capable of decoding 720p videos. To watch 1080 HD videos the Broadcom Crystal HD card must be installed into Apple TV along with the corresponding driver.

From the log it says the stream are 1280x720 (720p) so it should work. 1080p don't work without better hardware.

Do you have good signal DVB signal quality? Maybe you have discontinued errors because of bad reception?

More question than answer. Hope it helps anyway.

Hi there!
The CrystalHD card is only for ATV 1.
I don´t have any problems viewing 1080p Material on the ATV2 as long as it is a h264 movie.

I even have 1080p movies in the size of around 25 GB wich plays without any problems.

The TV signal is fine.

If i unplug the Sat chord from the TV-Card and plug it in the SAT-Box i can watch the HD-Channels just fine.

I have googled these errors in the log to try to understand what it means but i came up clean.

Try to use vlc for stream the recording. If you don't get this errors its a issue with ffmpeg. If it works with VLC you can try to compile XBMC with external ffmpeg.
