MOI Pro dvb-s2 - Tvheadend

I was thinking about this unit MOi Pro dvb-s2 rack unit.

its advertised with support for tvheadend. is this something anyone has tried?

i see the smaler unit MOI dvb-s2 streaming unit is most used but this is not enough for me, i need the pro unit.

i intend to run tvheadend on this unit, oscam runs on a separate unit.

is this unit capable of handling multiple hd streams? i have read some place that it is underpowerd?

It appears as if the system ships with tvheadend pre-installed - not sure what version, though, or how easy it is to upgrade, so you may be at the mercy of TBS for that one.

Regarding streams, I would guess your bottleneck would be network I/O (although it has twin LAN ports) more than anything, maybe disc I/O (local or remote) when recording.

yes that was my thought on it to regarding software. but i noticed on github there is a fork or something that is called MOI

on the buildroot for tvheadend i found this

it might be possible to build it for that MOI unit myself.

if this box has closed software, or that i need to relay on TBS for software upgrades, its a no go.

but i hope it should be possible to isntall everything on that unit from scratch myself if that is the case i might try it. it cost only 499$
