how do i avoid duplicate recordings ?

I have been using tvheadend for a while now and is very happy with it except that i am getting tired of avoiding duplicate recordings by manually removing duplicates every other day.
I searched quite a lot but i can't find anything that helps me avoid duplicates (i use XMLTV).
Any tips ?

Are you using the autorec function?
If you are and get duplicate recordings because of reruns there is a way to narrow down the errors.
If you go edit the autorec you have added, you can set the day(s) and at which hour(+/- 15 minutes) you want the autorec to functions.

I really would like to have this function too. Seems like an obviously good thing...

Ps. I see on the pull requests at https://github.com/tvheadend/tvheadend/pulls that you did not sign the CLA. Would that be a possibility? Don't know if it's a requirement for the patch to be pulled.
