With Kodi (17.6) as frontend and Tvheadend as PVR backend there are some fields, which are not usefull for IPTV in the codec info.
The codec info in Kodi (Key "O") shows information like theService,Provider,PVR backend and others. Some are useful for IPTV, some don't have a useful value and some are not useful for IPTV.
Device status is always
"Unknown". Wouldn't it be better to report a more meaningful value? A health state of the tvheadend service or health state of the operating system? Or even "Running" would be better then "Unknown".
The fields
BER and
UNC are perhaps not relevant for IPTV and the values are always
"00000000". Are there more useful values for IPTV? Or is it possible to hide this fields and values for IPTV?
Signal quality is always
"0 %". This looks not good. Isn't it possible to have a more meaningful and correct value depending on the UDP-stream?
SNR might also not be relevant for IPTV and is always"0 %". Do we have a better value? Or wouldn't it be better to hide it?
I think this issue is not only on the side of Tvheadend but also and maybe more on the side of Kodi. Nevertheless it might be possible to improve something in Tvheadend.
P.S.: I know, this is not a big thing/issue, but if it's easy to improve something, I'm always for it.
