See my initial message in:

This is what I observe: On 4.x (tested 4.0.5, 4.0.7 and 4.1) it seems that the EPG goes to sleep, unless someone is watching. Ie, as long as there is a connection to tvheadend (in my case from Kodi), EPG keeps populating. If I stop viewing, EPG stops populating. There is no info in the EPG view and no adapter active under "status".
I tried eveything, even a changing cron so that the EPG grabber ran every five minutes, nothing. I had tvheadend running overnight as I would have to record stuff. In the morning, EPG was empty and nothing had recorded.
By chance, I noticed that as soon as I watched TV from KODI, EPG started working again.
I have tvheadend installed on two machines, identical OSes (except that one is 64 bit and the other is 32) and on the other machine, running 3.4, OTA EPG does work, even if there is no connection from KODI.
It almost seems as though thveadend goes to sleep? Is this an intentional change from 3.x to 4.x or a bug? I kind of need the EPG to use autorec, right?
Also: I am not quite sure if I should post this here or create an "Issue", please advise!
