What I said was not poor Managment of the project but a common fact that an opensource project normally doesn't set dates for releases of stables (any that do normally miss the release date due to some unknown bugs appearing.)
There are some major bugs in the code that need to be worked out before a Stable can even be thought of. Others (Perexg mainly) are working on the code to Fix any little bugs they find while trying to finish the rewrite that Adam Started but never fully finished or bug free.
I know there is a bug in the inital scan code that stops the rotor code from working. this is a big bug to be fixed as the code is inside the timer/callback system used that allows constant usage of the system while a tuner waits for rotors to turn and any other delays needed during the tuning process. There is also the IPTV side that is getting fixed and improved (cannot comment further on this side as don't use it at all).
I originally replied in a hurry as it was a quick scan of the forum but after rereading your post your mentioning you are wanting a new stable to fix timeshift and channel sorting.
with timeshift the problem doesn't lie in the tvheadend side but the xbmc pvr side there is "bad code" causing the problem. have a read of this topic on xbmc.org http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=187521
could you explain what you mean by channel sorting is not working. is this in xbmc or tvheadend? if it's xbmc then your missing a setting in your live tv settings page, just click on the synchronise channels with back end option and after a quick reset of the pvr database (may not be needed) the channels should sort into the order of the tvheanded setup. If this is not what you mean please explain.
If these above are the two problems your ok to stick with your version of tvheadend if not I'll see what I can do/advise.
