I'm a long time mythtv user and trying to work out the tvheadend equivalents.
I mostly have generic rules such as "record movie if full text matches X, Y or Z". So this schedules to record and (on mythtv) if I see something I definitely don't want to see then I hit 'never record' so even if the programme appears again next month then it still won't record it. I believe it fakes a record saying the programme had already been recorded.
I couldn't find a 'never record' option equivalent on tvheadend. I can deselect a recording in the Upcoming tab but if the programme is on again next month then it will schedule again (and again and again).
Also a question on the dvr log. On mythtv the "already recorded" is by default kept forever. So I have rules to record all title X. It then uses the EIT programid (crid?) to record unique episodes even if those episodes are repeated in the future. If I don't watch an episode and it get auto-removed for disk space then that episode will be re-recorded when it is next repeated. This setup allows me to easily catch up on a programme where we might have season 5 on in prime time and season 4 in an afternoon on a different channel.
Does "dvr log retention forever" do the same? Does it handle thousands of entries so I don't need to cleanup. If I don't watch an episode but have file keep until out of space, then does the episode get re-recorded?
Final question is on running multiple servers that have different cards (sat/aerial) but where the same channel is broadcast on sat and aerial with same crid but obviously different muxes. What's the best way to set this up so that I can say "autorec title X" and it would record across either sat or aerial but not record the same programme on both at the same time. Should I be using tvheadend's sat>ip?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
