Why do I get the plot twice in EPG?

Added by Graham H 14 days ago

A small annoyance - at the bottom of Kodi's EPG I get the show title then the 'plot' in brackets, with the plot repeated below in the scrolling bit.

It seems Kodi is reading what TVH calls 'SubTitle' and using it for both Episode title and plot. There don't seem to be separate fields for these in TVH's database but it puts both into the SubTitle field, separated with a colon.

Shouldn't the TVH add-on for Kodi split these up into Kodi's sEpisodeName and sPlot fields?

Note - I'm not using any on-line EPG, just the broadcast information from Freeview.

This isn't a fault with tvheadend, it's just the way DVB-T has been implemented here in the UK, they incorrectly insert the programme synopsis into the subtitle section of the OTA EPG data. I can only assume that it's for older boxes.

Oh yes, thanks, it's the same on my telly. Out of interest, where 'should' they put the synopsis, and where would TVH store it? There doesn't seem to be a field.
